(A non traditional relationship that society might not be ready to accept)
Being strictly monogamous or totally open or somewhere in the middle, for example monogamous except when on holidays or travelling then completely open & both parties have the option of having sex with anyone they want, are all options accepted and explored within the gay community. I do not want restrictions telling me what i can & cannot do.
If we are gonna fight for something, then let's all fight together as a community and fight for something stronger than today's marriage that opens the door for everyone to have more progressive relationships!
What are we fighting about? Please read on.
The fight is not just about equality in marriage but should be more about equality & rights as Lesbian/Gay/Bisexual/Transgender/Intersex formed couples whatever that maybe, or three way relationships, or friends in life long companionships. I know fellas that are happy in three way relationships (Top, Bottom & Voyer that play with others that are into all three of them) but they will not turn up at a same sex marriage rally because those fighting for same sex relationships have put down what they have as being wrong & made them feel second rate because they do not have what hetrosexuals have in marriage which is a strictly monogamous relationship between only two people. Hetrosexuals do not get the option of having Open relationships like Gay fellas. There are swingers that exist in the hetrosexual world but they are frowned upon.
Either way we need equal rights. What if your loved one(s) were ill or sadly passing away & you had no say or no permission to see or be with him/her in their last hours? No permission to see them in Hospital? & simply because you were not classed as being their family? ...even though you have spent every night together or day together for more than a couple of years? Would a piece of paper change that? perhaps? Yes it is a start! What about next door neighbours that have grown old together & seen each other every day & looked after each other until hospitalised? Do they get to say goodbye to each other because legally they are not family?
What we should have done rather than fighting amongst each other is that we should have banded together like in the past and how the M&M's used to be together (Please see pic below), to fight for equal rights. For example we should have made the Mardi Gras parade, which was originally a rally to fight for equal rights, and made it compulsory for every single float including the dikes on bikes to somehow gain the attention of the queen. The reason for this is that after studying Constitutional Law (Please click here for more information) I know that even if a law act goes through a referendum and through parliament the Queen has overall power to make or break a law(s) and since Great Britain had same sex marriages (Commitment Ceremonies) which have the same equality to traditional heterosexual marriages introduced back in 2006 then the Queen could easily say & make law to enforce same sex marriages like they had simply by saying the word. Same sex marriage Act is now enacted. Job done. Simply get the Queens attention & she could easily change things way back in 2006/2007.
Luckily, although not until December 2017, Same sex marriages where introduced in Australia
Who doesn't want a 3 way with yellow?... :)
